Virtue is built by an independent developer in Norway. This policy explains what the app and this website collect, where that data goes, and what never happens to it. It is written to be read, not to protect anyone in court.
Your workouts, meals, sleep entries, run routes and recovery history are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to a server, and no account is required to use the app.
If you grant permission, Virtue reads sleep and heart data from Apple Health to improve your recovery estimate. This data is read on your device and is not transmitted anywhere. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app, and Virtue keeps working without it.
If you use run tracking, Virtue records your location, including in the background while a run is active, to measure distance, pace and route. Location is used only for the run you are recording, stays on your device, and is never shared or sold.
When you describe or photograph a meal, or ask Virtue a training question, that text or image is sent to Anthropic's API through a proxy server we operate, analysed, and the result is returned to your phone. Concretely:
If you never use the AI features, nothing leaves your device.
If you enter your email address to be notified at launch, that address, and your name if you choose to give it, is stored with our email provider for the sole purpose of sending you launch and product updates. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to support@trainvirtue.com.
Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not run advertising trackers or cross-site profiling on this site.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how it is processed. In practice, the only personal data we hold outside your own device is your email address if you gave us one. Write to support@trainvirtue.com and it will be handled. You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Your training data lives on your device, not on our servers. That means we cannot read it, lose it, or hand it to anyone, and it also means it is yours to manage. Deleting the app deletes the data with it, so back up anything you want to keep before you do.
Virtue is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app.

Verify every claim above against what the app actually does today, especially whether any analytics or crash-reporting SDK is bundled, since that would have to be disclosed. Note also that this policy states data never leaves the device. The moment you add accounts, sync or social features, this section stops being true and must be rewritten before that ships, not after. Delete this box before going live.
